a good day

alright so remember how I said that I was reading Nerd Fitness? remember I said I was obsessed?
okay well it was just the other day so I hope you do!  I mean, if you listen to me at all... randomly
so anyhow, I was just telling Aaron the last two nights, literally night. laying in bed, in the dark
rambling about my life struggles, trying to find myself, what I want to do, who I want to be.
turns out, today the two things totally came together.  it was very odd and happy timing.
embarassingly enough, I told Aaron last night,
"I know it's not real life, but I think it might be fun to be a personal trainer like Gillian Michaels."
"to really change lives, reach out and help people. yell and make positive changes."
he clearly thought I was ridiculous and he didn't see my point at all. bottom line:
I am incredibly interested and passionate about fitness. I want to feel that my job is important.
I want to wake up 10, 20, 50 years from now and feel like my job mattered to someone.
I think that personal trainers do change the world, they change the worlds of the people they train.
so back to my story!!  today I got a blog update from Nerd Fitness saying that they are hiring.
I wavered back and forth thinking about whether or not I should apply.  why the hell shouldn't I?
so do you know what I did?  I sucked it up, answered the strange questions as honestly as I could,
and I applied.  I even told them about this little blog of mine.  this is who I am after all..
this is who they will end up with.  they should see up front who they are getting :) I think they will like it.
hopefully I hear back.  if not, it is one step towards getting out of my safe bubble.
one step towards doing something that I wouldn't have done yesterday. and that is an accomplishment.
so really, job or no job. I've already won!

another random blog update?

sure, don't mind if I do.

so Breanna and I have just started something that I am pretty excited about.
I recently started reading Nerd Fitness, a pretty amazing fitness blog [obviously]
yesterday I read a post about this guy who ended up in a bet with his friends for $500
this bet was finally the thing that pushed him into the best shape of his life
and it was just in time for his wedding [sound familiar at all?!]

this article really got me thinking about what a great motivator money can be.
of course it is sad that our health and happiness isn't motivating enough, but what can I do.
so!  Breanna and I are now in our own health bet for $250 and I couldn't be more excited.

the rules are simple. we will do weekly progress reporting every Tuesday morning.
each week doesn't count for much, except that we will get to talk shit as time progresses, which is always fun.
then the week of the wedding somebody has to pay up! the person with the lowest % loss is the loser!

here are our official starting weights:

help cure #notivation

as I was doing my typical morning instagram scroll, I came across a blog post that I was extremely interested in!  Mallory from Mal Smiles [whom I love btw] and a few other girls are doing a fitness related link up that I find extremely motivational.  which you will clearly see when I show you the name of it.

as you can see, these three girls are helping us all to get a little more motivated, and who doesn't need an extra push now and again? I know I do.  reading Mallory's story on how some days she is so excited and works it hard in the gym and then on other days lays around at home and grabs a milkshake really hit home for me.  being motivated all the time is something that I think most of us struggle with.
I have been "over weight" for a very long time.  let's all be honest, that^ is a huge bitch lol it is so strange how you really don't recognize how out of hand things are until you get far away from it. I have been slowly losing weight for the last two years.  so far I have lost 50ish pounds.  once the scale got near 200 I stopped looking.  I'm still working on it, I want to run far, and I want to lift a lot more. but I am also still happy with my progress.
the linkup continues on Thursday and I am very excited about it!  I love reading others stories and learning new tips and tricks.  be sure to check it out!!
