Detour One >> Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore

Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore

While Aaron and I were making the trip from Indiana to Missouri, we saw a road sign for the Indiana Dunes. Being from Michigan, we were like, "do you think they are real dunes?" Obviously, we had to go check it out. Turns out, they really are real dunes, but I was still much more excited about the really cool old building that we found. It was cold and ridiculously windy when we stopped, but it was a really cool national park. I would definitely love to go back in the summer sometime.

  1. I love the Indiana Dunes! I'm in Chicago, and it's such a convenient escape to experience a little nature. It's a very overlooked National Park - glad to see you enjoyed it & will be following your adventures!

    1. I really had no idea at all that it was there, and the website for it isn't all that informative. I tried looking up more information on the building and couldn't easily locate anything. I guess people don't find things as important as I do lol

  3. We loved going to the Indiana Dunes during our time in Chicago! If you're lucky and the weather is right, you can even see Chicago's Skyline from there! Glad you liked it, you should definitely return during summer!

  5. How cool that you get to travel for fun! I've always wanted to get a globe, spin it and wherever my finger landed, that's where I would go, you are actually doing it! How neat. Love where your detour took you. Great post and thanks for sharing.
